I have facilitated and presented at various events on a wide range of topics. They include personal development, health, biofield therapies like Reiki, community aid, humanitarianism and business.
As a social scientist, entrepreneur, energy practitioner and coach, I’m interested in tangible outcomes. I offer peer-reviewed studies, information corroborated by additional sources or personal experiences to back up my ideas and suggestions.
Given my background as an educator who specializes in collaborative and experiential learning, my talks and workshops are informative and grounded in stories, impactful examples and experiential exercises.
In other words,
- I like to play with images and multi-media, not wordy PowerPoint Slides.
- The audience gets to play too
- I won’t be pulling your legs 😀
My dynamic approach and well-researched content will add value to your seminars, conferences, retreats, luncheons and fundraisers by getting people to feel a sense of expansion. More importantly, they will be able to take one or two action steps to apply the learning outcomes of this presentation when they participate in the exercise I facilitate.
Each presentation is customized according to your needs, themes and areas of interest. I will design and facilitate the experiential activities according to your outcomes.
Three examples of my approach and possible topics are :
The art of fulfillment
Success is a science, a game even. But what really gives life meaning is fulfillment.
This presentation shares how fulfillment is tied to the awareness of our needs and values. Everyone wants to feel contentment and gratitude; we also want to engage with our clients, friends and family in ways that generate these positive emotions.
Using examples associated with your event’s theme or areas of interest, I will tell stories of inspiring individuals who not only experienced fulfillment and also enabled many others to get that glorious feeling through the initiatives, programs, organizations or businesses they founded.
Audiences will try a simple exercise where they get to deepen awareness of their values and needs, and apply these insights to design more experiences of fulfillment in their own lives.
The Tao of Self-Care
Self-care is the foundation for all aspects of our lives.
This presentation gives five tips for self-care which enables the audience to better connect with themselves physically, emotionally and mentally.
I will relate funny and poignant experiences of “burnt-out” individuals who are associated with your event’s theme or areas of interest, including myself. These stories relate how we have used proven methods to turn ourselves around so we can enjoy quality of life whilst working on big heart-centered missions.
Audiences will learn a simple trick to tune into their own self-care needs. They can use it to come up with one or two tweaks to their daily routines, simple steps that will enable them to love, thrive and give more.
Five myth-busting tips to help you help more people
This presentation exposes how subjective “problems” and “suffering” can be, and the myths about giving “aid” to others.
Entrepreneurs solve problems. Successful entrepreneurs simply solve bigger problems, or problems that confound more people.
Likewise, if you are in a helping or service profession where you work with clients, or part of a public or community-oriented group, you offer something in response to people’s problems.
Using engaging case studies, which can be drawn from your event’s theme or areas of interest, I will illustrate:
- how entrepreneurs, helping professionals or even governments, fall prey to common misconceptions about “helping” people solve “problems”
- how effective people enable others to deal with “problems” and their understanding of “aid”, “compassion” or “suffering”.
Audiences will play a game about archetypes. They will learn one method they can use to avoid falling into such behavioural patterns in future, which can change the way they relate to others.
