Everyone has some kind of wish for 2016, even if you don’t fix numbers to it and call it a “goal.”
What emotional experiences do you associate with your biggest wish/goal? Can you find ways you can access these feelings at will? And if you can, would you still care about this outcome?
It’s a paradox. Years ago I cared alot about getting slender, thinking that I would feel loved and worthy if I were thin. Now I know how to feel loved and worthy instantly and don’t obsess over calories and exercise. And somehow I’ve lost 8 kilos and quite a few inches without fussing over my size. I’m still not slender but it’s not even an issue anymore.
Maybe the trick is to identify the emotional deficit that’s associated with the “goal” and fill up this deficit with loving ways first. The outcome you once desired may be realised more quickly when you’re not attached to it.
